Walk in Your Dead-Raising Authority
Walk in Your Dead-Raising Authority "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." - Matthew 10:8 (NIV) Do you know one of the biggest fears the devil has? It’s your understanding of the massive authority that you have been given. When you come to the understanding that Jesus gave you supernatural authority to impact the world around you, the devil gets scared. As you stand for your marriage, it’s vital you understand the authority that Jesus has entrusted to His followers. In Matthew 10:8, Jesus gave an incredible commission to His disciples and, by extension, to all Christians. He said, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons.” These words are not just a historical account but are a living mandate for us today. In today’s devotional, let’s explore how Jesus has equipped you with the authority to heal, raise the dead, and drive out demons and how this authority applies to restoring your marriage from the dead. When Jesus walked the earth, He demonstrated His authority over sickness, death, and demonic oppression. He didn’t keep this authority for Himself but freely imparted it to His disciples and to every believer. As you stand for the restoration of your marriage, know that this authority is not dormant; it’s a powerful tool at your disposal to bring restoration to your family. One of the remarkable aspects of the authority Jesus gave us is the ability to “raise the dead.” I know for some of you, this sounds crazy. You might be saying, “Me, raise the dead?” YES! And what better time in your life to walk in this dead-raising authority that you’ve been given? This command to raise the dead doesn’t just pertain to physical death, which it does, but I believe it also extends to areas of our lives that seem lifeless, including our marriages. Just as Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, you now have the authority through the power of the Holy Spirit to breathe life back into your marriage. Yes, it may currently be lifeless and buried, but allow me to say this clearly and to the point. If your marriage is dead, just like the State of Texas said mine was, Jesus has given you the authority to raise your marriage back to life. So today, I want you to stand with Dead-Raising Authority over your family! Maybe your marriage isn’t completely dead but still needs massive healing. It’s essential also to understand that the authority given by Jesus also extends to the healing of your marriage. Just as Jesus performed miraculous healings, He empowers you to bring healing and restoration to your relationships. This means that even when wounds seem deep, conflicts seem irreparable, or trust seems shattered, you have the authority, through Christ, to speak healing and reconciliation into your marriage. By praying for emotional and spiritual healing, seeking forgiveness, and extending grace, you actively exercise your authority to bring about the mending of what’s broken. Your marriage is not beyond the reach of God’s healing touch when you walk in the authority He has granted you. Some marriages might be facing the influence of demonic oppression. This can manifest as strife, unforgiveness, addiction, or other destructive forces. Thankfully, Jesus didn’t leave us defenseless. He said in this same passage that He granted us the authority to “drive out demons.” So be confident that as you stand for your marriage, you can boldly confront and cast out any spiritual strongholds that are hindering restoration. The demons that are attacking your marriage have to leave when you exercise your God-given authority! Walking in this authority requires faith and a deep reliance on the Holy Spirit. But just as the disciples received power when the Holy Spirit came upon them at Pentecost, you, too, are receiving divine empowerment to exercise this authority. Trusting in God’s promises, believing in the resurrection power of Christ, and surrendering to the leading of the Holy Spirit are essential components of walking in your dead-raising authority. Jesus’ commission to heal the sick, raise the dead, and drive out demons was a commission to restore and bring wholeness. And He is using you to bring this wholeness back to your marriage. To walk in your dead-raising authority during your stand for marriage restoration, pray against any spiritual strongholds and demonic oppression affecting your marriage.
