The Process of Hope: Trusting God for Your Marriage Restoration “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him…” — Romans 15:13 (NIV) Today, I want you to be encouraged that as you stand for restoration, God desires to increase your hope for your marriage! Maybe you woke up today with a supernatural amount of hope, maybe you are struggling to have any level of hope for this marriage miracle, or maybe you are just not sure what to believe at all. No matter where you currently are regarding hope, the great news is that our God is the God of hope! That is His identity and character! Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” While you might be running low on hope for your marriage, do not forget He is the Lord of hope, and He is definitely not in short supply of it! Since God is a never-ending source of hope, you can be confident that He will give you an outpouring of hope, joy, and peace from His own personal reservoir. We spoke yesterday about being “joyful in hope,” and you might ask yourself, how do I get there? Well, this verse gives you the actual process God uses to increase your joy and peace and so much hope you overflow with it! So, what is this process of hope? It is the simple yet powerful act of trusting in Him! As you continue to place more trust in the God of hope, it is then when God begins to fill you up with supernatural joy and peace that creates this overflow! Many standers struggle with this because they first demand joy and peace to be in their life before they actually trust God. Or they say they trust God outwardly, but if you look at their life, emotions, actions, and even how they pray, you can’t see or hear anything resembling that they trust God at all. Does this describe your current reality? If you examine your day-to-day stand, do you see actual moments of trust or more doubt and fear? Are you wondering why God isn’t giving you more joy and peace? You could be ignoring the process He uses to deliver it. Never forget that trust is the conduit through which this hope flows. It’s an active, daily choice in each challenge, transforming trust into a tangible experience of peace and joy and, as a result, amplifying hope. It’s an amazing cycle where trust leads to peace, joy, and an increase in hope that is crucial in your stand. Consider the moments in your stand where trust might waver, where fear overshadows faith. These are the moments to invite God in, to strengthen your trust and align your actions, emotions, and prayers with His promises. As you deepen your trust in God, expect to see a shift in your experience of joy and peace. These aren’t just consequences of faith; they’re evidence of God actively working in your life. As your trust grows, watch as joy, peace, and hope not only increase but overflow, demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. If you need more joy, peace, and hope for your marriage, then today, take an honest look at God’s process of hope we find in Romans 15:13. Ask Him to increase your trust in Him. Give Him permission to take you on a journey of increasing that trust. Allow Him to show you the areas of your life that have been a struggle for you to trust Him. Whether you are walking in great joy and peace or not, understand that if we want more of those, they come from the process of trust. This is a biblical promise! If we can increase our trust that God is in control and has the power to fulfill all of His promises over our lives, then we will also see an overflow of hope, joy, and peace from the Holy Spirit. Are you ready for more hope, joy, and peace in your stand? It’s coming! Simply choose to trust Him every day and see what happens!
