Always Have Hope As You Stand For Marriage Restoration
Always Have Hope As You Stand For Marriage Restoration “As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more” - Psalms 71:14 (NIV) I know it may seem all is lost in your marriage, and the challenges seem insurmountable. The pain and disappointment can sometimes leave you feeling helpless and hopeless. However, as believers, we are called to hold on to hope and trust in the power of our God, who can redeem even the most broken situations. Psalms 71:14 gives us a wonderful example of what kind of hope is available to us. It says, “But I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.” This verse reveals a powerful truth: Your hope is not based on the circumstances you see with your eyes but on the character and faithfulness of your Heavenly Father. There is, in fact, a way for you and I to never lose hope, no matter what is going on around us. When it comes to restoring a marriage, I know firsthand that it can feel like an uphill battle, like going up an icy mountain wearing roller skates. Reconciliation may look impossible and the road ahead is definitely filled with uncertainties. However, amid this icy storm, you are called to fix your gaze on God and hold on to the hope that He is working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it. In Psalms 71:14, there is a secret to obtaining the steadfast hope that will never stop. The psalmist wrote, “I will praise you more and more!” Praise plays a vital role in nurturing and sustaining your hope. Through praise, you shift your focus from the problems to the Promiser, from your limited understanding to His unlimited power. When you choose to praise God, you declare your trust in Him and acknowledge His sovereignty over your life and marriage. As you magnify His name, your perspective shifts, and you begin to see your circumstances through the lens of faith. Praise becomes a catalyst for hope, reminding you that with God, nothing is impossible. Lift up your voice in praise, even when it feels difficult. Remember, praise is not merely a response to what God has done but a declaration of faith in what He is yet to do. It’s an act of spiritual warfare, a powerful tool that shifts the atmosphere from despair to hope, from doubt to faith. In praising God, you are not denying the reality of your problems, but you are choosing to magnify the One who holds the solution to every problem. As you engage in praise, your perspective will begin to change. The problems that seemed gigantic start to shrink in the light of God’s greatness. The mountains of betrayal and hurt in your marriage are not insurmountable for God. In fact, your praise paves the way for God to work miracles, to soften your heart and bring healing where it is needed most. As you stand for your marriage I invite you to let your heart be filled with continuous praise. Let your home be filled with the sound of worship, creating an environment where hope can flourish and God’s presence is felt. As you praise Him more and more, your heart will be aligned with His and you will find strength, joy and hope even in the midst of the storm. Hold tightly to this promise of never-ending hope. Trust in the God who weaves beauty from brokenness, who brings unity from division. Your journey of restoration may be difficult but with God, it is steeped in hope and crowned with His faithfulness. Keep praising, keep believing, and watch as God transforms your marriage into a testament of His redeeming love and power. I believe as you commit to praising Him more and more, you will find these words coming out of your mouth, “But as for me, I will always have hope!”
