Is Anything Too Hard for Him?
Is Anything Too Hard for Him? "I AM THE LORD, THE GOD OF ALL MANKIND. IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR ME?’’ - JEREMIAH 32:27 (NIV) Don’t you love how God knows us? How He fully understands what we are thinking and what we are struggling with. A beautiful thing about God is that He is not afraid to confront the thoughts we like to hide from others. God will relentlessly go after these hidden thoughts in our lives because if we allow these thoughts to stick around, they become beliefs. These wrong beliefs then start to guide our actions. Today’s passage in Jeremiah 32:27 is, I believe, an example of God confronting a deeply held fear many standers quietly carry. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?’ - Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV) We see in this passage that the Lord starts off with a straightforward state ment and then drops the question He knew needed to be addressed. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?“ – Jeremiah 32:27. I love how God, knowing the question He was about to ask, decided it was a good idea to enlighten us about His personal resume. He begins with an obvious yet profound truth, declaring He is “the Lord, the God of all mankind.” God is laying the foundation of His identity right at the start. That He reigns over all humankind. God is pretty much reminding us that He has complete and matchless authority Then He asks the question that He knows is a struggle for most of us! It’s a question we would probably never dare ask in Sunday school because saying it out loud would sound completely wrong. This is the question many standers have swirling around in their heads late at night when all seems lost: “Is this too hard for God?” God asked Jeremiah, “Is anything too hard for me?“ I believe He is lovingly asking you this same question. The truth is that He already knows if we are doubting that God can restore the marriage. We might hope He can, but for many, the reality of how broken the union is and how distant our spouse has become has led us to begin to doubt this. If we are honest, there are many times we begin to worry that our sneaking suspicions are indeed factual and that our marriage is, in all practical terms, too hard for God. Even though you might never voice these words out loud, are these phrases dwelling inside your heart and mind? I believe that today, God wants to address this internal question you might be secretly carrying within you today! He knows what you are thinking. So why not let Him address the “elephant in the room” for you? Go to Him today, and allow Him to speak into the question that you’re deathly afraid to hear. Ask Him the question that He is asking you! “God, is my marriage restoration too hard for You?” Don’t rush the moment; ask God to remove your fears, and just allow your spirit to hear God’s answer clearly. Allow the truth that is revealed in Jeremiah 32:27 to permeate your soul. Allow Him to expose any lies and speak directly to your heart as He asks you, “Is anything too hard for Me?” So, if you have been carrying doubt in this area, and if you have let all the current drama and the brokenness overshadow the power of God, I encourage you to simply repent of not believing in the absolute strength of His Hand. I want to encourage you, my dear friend, in this amazing verse. God is indeed the Lord of all mankind, and NOTHING is too hard for Him!
